Grace Music Festival (GMF) is a peacebuilding and community bonding initiative. It was conceived as part of the Stop The Fighting Start The Music campaign by Cafe Diplo. GMFs will be held primarily in conflict areas to encourage people to make and enjoy music, to put their differences aside, and to give peace a chance. It will also be held in non-conflict areas to bring communities together in the spirit of solidarity, commonality and harmonious living.
GMF will feature musicians passionate about peacebuilding, social issues and the environment. It will involve local musicians as performers, and aims to attract as many people as possible, especially if they came from different sides of a conflict. GMF is built on the notion that grace, as defined in terms of forgiveness, goodwill, generosity and kindness, is a vital ingredient in conflict resolution and peacebuilding.
In short, Grace Music Festival is about peace, forgiveness and gracious living. |
