About The Singspirators
The Singspirators is a group of talented and inspiring singers and musicians started by Cafe Diplo. Their main task is to sing and inspire people into action for humanitarian and environmental causes. The Singspirators are Syltra Lee and Michael Cho.
Syltra Lee
Syltra started singing along with an acoustic guitar from the age of 13. Five years later, she began to capture public attention with her powerful voice and budding songwriting ability. A spirited run at the title in season three of the Singapore Idol competition earned her many fans and accolades. Syltra enjoys the boundless artistic freedom on stage and the thrilling experience of live performances, be it massive concerts or small, cosy and intimate acoustic sessions. With a contagious smile and a vivacious attitude, her music is an extension of her personality. Syltra hopes to inspire others with her music.
Michael Cho
Hong Kong-born Michael is a singer-songwriter whose eclectic musical influences range from Sam Hui to Simon & Garfunkel. His passion for music has led him to song-writing contests, pub gigs, open mikes, and cafes as well as the streets of San Francisco where he would busk with the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge as backdrop. In Singapore where he now resides and works, you may spot Michael busking at a bridge near Clark Quay or entertaining the Ben & Jerry crowd at Dempsey Hill. Regardless of location, Michael gives his utmost each time he performs, and hopes that along the way, his music can serve as a reminder to others of the sentimental and emotional sides of being human. |
